“Playlist” explores Cristina’s deep passion for music, which has been well established since the nurses and her mum turned on the radio the moment she was born. Cristina is just as passionate about music as art, and the way in which these two concepts intertwine to form a creative and alternative way to express one’s self. Her musical interest extends from 1940 right through to 1989. Cristina’s work also explores the admiration and obsessive connection she has with certain songs, genres and musicians, which is especially evident in her Impersonation photo series (where she captures the child like dream of wanting to be your idol). In her ideal house, everywhere you turn will show you her love and interests. Thus she decided to include paintings on household items and poster like drawings and to also provide a connection between a musician’s stage persona and their every-day life.
