The Witching Hour is the first installment in The Magic Hour exhibition series.

Artist Statement:

“When someone told me I lived in a fantasy world, I nearly fell off my unicorn”-Unknown

The Witching Hour invites you into the enchanting, fantasy world Cristina dreams of. Drawing from the term used to describe midnight’s magical moments, The Witching Hour reflects Cristina’s deep-rooted passion for fantasy, sparked at the age of four by the 1998 film Merlin, starring Sam Neill. Her fascination grew a year later with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, followed by numerous books, folklore, fairy tales, and films exploring the fantasy genre.

This exhibition also gently integrates elements of Cristina’s Wiccan beliefs, aiming to educate and inspire curiosity without imposing. Visitors are invited to step into her world, taking on roles as a sidekick, hero, villain, or knight, experiencing the habitats of fantasy creatures and characters along the way. So, who will you be, and what is your story? While the tale may begin with “Once upon a time…,” the ending is yours to write.
